Back to school clipboard for me!
Front: Back:
I decided to make myself a new clipboard for back to school. I like using a clipboard. This is a small clipboard, just right for sticky notes or small notepads. I want to make a regular size clipboard too. And, since I love cats, I thought this was appropriate. This was an easy project. I just selected scrapbook paper that I liked and mod podged it on. I then put several layers of mod podge on to give it a protective finish. On the back, I used spray adhesive on the paper and then covered with mod podge. I would do that on the front when I make another one. I just didn't think of my spray adhesive until I was beginning work on the back. I think this would make a cute gift for a teacher, don't you?

Rearranging
Dennis helped me rearrange some things today (after he had worked all morning in the yard!) I wanted to hang this quilt. This quilt was made by a 90+ year old lady in my church and given to me when I graduated from college many years ago. She did every bit of it by hand. It is very, very special to me and I love it dearly. She is gone on to Heaven now, but her legacy lives on in her unselfish gift of love. I really like this corner. I love religious art, and am particularly fond of the Infant of Prague picture that I found in a thrift store. All this art came from a thrift store we have in town - well, except for the diploma and Dennis' awards. I think the quilt gives it a homey look. I still want to work on this corner but I think this is a good start!
PS - I failed to mention that this is the corner of a very small bedroom. It's big enough for a full size bed and that's about all that will fit in the space. It has a bathroom opening to the other side. This used to be my study until we needed another bedroom. I know I need to move the pictures for a better arrangement but I used the nails that were already hanging. I didn't want to make any new holes if I could get by without doing so.

Clothespin magnets
I finished my first bag of 50 clothespin magnets and I thought I would show you a picture. I plan on giving these, along with the marble magnets, to the boys' teachers and a few coworkers of mine for Christmas. I just love making these little magnets. I would like to make many more of these for myself. I think they would be perfect to use at school to display student work. I could hot glue them to the wall. Yes, that is exactly what I will do. I need to buy some more clothespins. I'll add that to my growing list to pick up at the Dollar Tree!
Nancy asked: What are you using for the color? Are you actually painting them, or using some kind of paper decoupage? Do you buy the magnets at dollar tree too.
Nancy, I use magazine pages to decoupage onto the clothespins. I find areas in a magazine that I like and outline the clothespin, cut it out, and decoupage on to the clothespin. I order the magnets online.

Magnets
I made a few magnets for Christmas presents this year. I plan on giving them to the boys' teachers and a few of my co-workers. I will most likely include a few clothespin magnets and a notepad or 2. I haven't thought that far ahead.
PS,
Nancy asked me how I made these magnets so I thought I would include the instructions. You take the flat back clear marbles found in the floral section at the craft store. I usually get a bag at the Dollar Tree or Big Lots. Cut a circle from the paper of your choice to fit, or a little bigger. Mod podge it on to the flat back of the marble. Let it dry and trim the paper if needed. Glue on the magnet and there you have it! Very easy to do!

A little thirsty
I am now the proud owner of a Bubba Keg! This name just cracks me up to no end. It even has it's own bottle opener under the handle. I was in Wal-Mart one day this past week and these were literally flying off the shelf. The lady who was standing beside me bought all the remaining ones except this one (she didn't like the color!) She told me that it would keep my drink cold ALL day long. I tried that out today and she was right. Now, I will have a handy bottle opener with my drink should I ever need that. Do they make bottles that still need bottle openers? Apparently they do, just nothing that I drink. Still, I'm prepared! Living in the South, you would think that I know a lot of folks named Bubba. I only know 2! Wonder if they either one have a Bubba Keg....

Panic Attacks
If you do not suffer from panic attacks, consider yourself fortunate. I have been struggling with panic attacks since 1991 and they are no fun. Normally, I can defuse the situation and ward off a panic attack but sometimes they sneak upon me - like today. I was minding my own business when one hit me. My solution for a panic attack is to take my medicine and find a cat! Sam is the best medicine for any illness, but particularly a panic attack. He will lay with me and purr and pet me until I feel better. It's a good thing!

I am content
Three times I begged the Lord about this, that it might leave me, but he said to me,
"My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness."
I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses,
in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me.
Therefore, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships,
persecutions, and constraints, for the sake of Christ;
for when I am weak, then I am strong.
~2 Corinthians 12: 8-10
