Pinterest #2 - Door Jammer - Success

At night, my husband likes to prop open the bedroom door so the kitty cats can come and go at will.  If he doesn't, they will scratch at the door until someone gets up and lets them in - spoiled kitty cats!!

So, I went on Pinterest and combined several ideas into one and came up with this.

I took pony tail holders and crocheted directly on the band.  I cast on 10 stitches.

Then, I hdc to the appropriate length.  I think I crocheted 9 rows.

Works like a charm!  The door jammer keeps the door open without propping something in the doorway (like a basket that I almost tripped over!)

This was quick and easy - 10 minutes at the most from start to finish!
It would also be handy for a baby's room.

So, success for Pinterest Project #2.

Pinned It, Made it!

I stumbled across a party that features things that you pinned and then made.  I thought that was a wonderful idea!

My entry is one that I have been making for the past year - Grandmother's Favorite Dishcloth.  I love knitting these dishcloths because they are quick and easy - a perfect craft for watching TV, sitting at the doctor's office, riding in the car, waiting on the boys, etc....

I also love to wash dishes with these.  They are divine to use as dishcloths!  Once you have used these to wash dishes, everything else does not compare.

I like to give these away to people.  They can be used as dishcloths, washcloths, potholders, spa cloths, etc...  They are very versatile.

The picture above was what I gave my boys' school teachers the last day of school last year.

March is National Crochet Month

March is National Crochet Month! How wonderful to have a whole month dedicated to this wonderful needle art. This is a dishcloth that I have crocheted using cotton yarn. I just love washing dishes with this type of dishcloth! This was a very simple pattern - just single crochet, skip one, single crochet, skip one, etc... all away across.

I find crocheting to be very relaxing. It's also a great craft to do since it's easy carried on short or long trips. I usually crochet on the way to church every Sunday and on vacations.
