Rearranging

Dennis helped me rearrange some things today (after he had worked all morning in the yard!) I wanted to hang this quilt. This quilt was made by a 90+ year old lady in my church and given to me when I graduated from college many years ago. She did every bit of it by hand. It is very, very special to me and I love it dearly. She is gone on to Heaven now, but her legacy lives on in her unselfish gift of love. I really like this corner. I love religious art, and am particularly fond of the Infant of Prague picture that I found in a thrift store. All this art came from a thrift store we have in town - well, except for the diploma and Dennis' awards. I think the quilt gives it a homey look. I still want to work on this corner but I think this is a good start!
PS - I failed to mention that this is the corner of a very small bedroom. It's big enough for a full size bed and that's about all that will fit in the space. It has a bathroom opening to the other side. This used to be my study until we needed another bedroom. I know I need to move the pictures for a better arrangement but I used the nails that were already hanging. I didn't want to make any new holes if I could get by without doing so.

  3. I think you are off to a great start Susan! The corner looks just wonderful but, most importantly, it is full of things you love. I think the story behind this quilt is so sweet. She is smiling down from heaven now. What a perfect thing to have to remember her by (says me as a quilter). :-) Is this corner in your living room or bedroom?

  4. I have to have quilts in most every room. I stitched and quilted most of them. And to me they do give a house that cozy, lived-in feeling that just makes you smile. Yes, your quilt looks wonderful!
