I have always wanted a chalkboard that have been around on the Internet for several years.
I didn't have a tray that I wanted to use.
One day, I was in Salvation Army Thrift store and found this charger for $2.
Can't beat that price! (Unless it was free!)
It apparently had started life as a stainless steel plate charger.
It was love at first sight because I just love the stars around the edge!
Out came the spray paint and a transformation!
I think it turned out really cute.
I think it needs a wider ribbon but I didn't have any.
That's on my "pick up next time in town" list!
I am not sure where it will end up hanging in my house.
For right now, it's here.
It will travel to many rooms before it settles in one spot!
Thanks for dropping by!!
This is very cute! I was wondering about the stars when I saw the photo on CHL. I thought somehow you had painted or stuck them on. LOL.
ReplyDeleteLove it! And I also love all the other things you've made lately - the teacher's gifts are awesome!
ReplyDeleteWow! This is fabulous and is going to be so much fun to use year round. I think it is going to look great no matter where you hang it. Do you have a place near your door to greet those coming and going?

I love the way your charger came out. You have such good ideas.
ReplyDeleteI saw the lamp right away because my Mom had a lamp base like that.
Different shade but it sure brought instant memories to me.

Susan...I love it.I was also drawn to the stars on the charger. It would be perfect for a 4th of July greeting.Maybe your boys could come up with some short sayings to put on it.Would also be nice to use as a birthday greeting on those special days.
ReplyDeleteSusan, I love your chalkboard charger! I thought you had put the stars on it until I saw the pic of what it looked like before you painted it. Wow! Wouldn't a whole set of them look fabulous for a 4th of July table!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea Susan...it looks great :)
